Early summer 1989 a young, entrepreneurial woman named Wendy set up a deck chair and umbrella at the marina and begun renting tinnies to passerby’s. So was born the Port Douglas Boat Hire.
These days Iain, Sue and Iain run it and we now have stable pontoon boats but, thirty years on, we continue to be one of Ports’ original, most fun and affordable activities.
