At our store, Oz About Oz – The Port Douglas Shop, we celebrate all things Australian.

We’ve worked really hard to curate a range that makes for wonderful gifts, mementos, collectables and souvenirs for family, friends, work colleagues or perhaps a personal travel souvenir for you?

You’ll find gifts and souvenirs of Port Douglas, the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, Outback themes to Aboriginal design & artifacts, and Australian iconography.

Online and in-store, you’ll be sure to find something different; maybe it’s quirky, thoughtful, could be unexpected or really cool but always quality.

Back in June 1982, our first store opened in Melbourne.

A mum of two girls, with the support of their Dad acted on her dream of showcasing Australian creative designs in clothing, accessories, homewares, jewellery, kids toys, crafts and Aboriginal artifacts.

The dream was, in part a reflection of her family’s long association with the Australian environment and rural heritage reaching back to the mid 19tht century.

Influences and formative experiences such as growing up on a diary farm, a love of native wildlife and flowers, reading Australian history and travelling long distances through Australia’s scenic landscape were etched in her mind. Setting up an Australian gifts and clothing store was therefore a natural extension of what she loved.

Fast forward to June 2002 and the dream expanded to creating an Australian destination store in beautiful Port Douglas.

Today you’ll find us still in the same spot (albeit in a larger store) fronting onto the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina boardwalk. We also still stock items from some of our original suppliers!
